Horticulture Crew Leader
Great Outdoors is seeking an experienced, leadership-minded Horticulture Crew Leader to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. Founded in 1983, we are a full-service lawn care and landscaping company dedicated to premium workmanship, creativity, and exceeding client expectations. In this role, you will use your plant knowledge and leadership skills to guide a crew, manage diverse properties, and deliver beautiful outdoor spaces.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Wage: $22.00 – $24.00 / hour (Higher starting pay considered based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Teams: Supervise, train, and delegate daily tasks to your assigned crew using a collaborative team approach.
- Deliver Quality: Perform and oversee fine gardening services including clean-ups, pruning, mulching, and weeding.
- Client Care: Communicate effectively with residential and commercial clients to understand their unique goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Solve Problems: Partner with management and crew members to address on-site challenges swiftly and professionally.
- Winter Operations: Perform and manage snow removal services during the winter season.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in professional horticulture services and crew management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Credentials: Valid Michigan Chauffeur’s License and a current DOT Medical Card.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to our job sites/shop in Ann Arbor, MI.
- Physical & Logistics: Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions. Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and a 90-day probationary period.
- Communication: Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
Desired Qualifications
- Michigan Certified Landscape Professional (MCN)
- Certified Landscape Technician (CLT)
- Extension Master Gardener Certificate
- Fluent in Spanish
- Pesticide Applicator License
